Can You Recommend a Plum Mascara For Me?
So many of you ask me for recommendations for a plum coloured mascara. For the uninitiated among you, Plum (or purple) mascaras can take your look from plain to glam easily. They make brown or blue eyes pop, make the whites of your eyes look brighter, and is just a nice change from the everyday black mascara.
Benefit’s famous BADgal mascara now comes in a Plum version and though it looks really purple on the wand, on the lashes it’s smoky dark which makes it perfect for everyday.

I really liked BADgal plum, but alas, I think I am allergic to the dye color they use. My eyes would get all gooky(hope that’s not too graphic) when I wore it. So now I use the Almay one and doesn’t bother my eyes at all.
Tracy, do you have an allergy to shellfish?
They are often used in reddish pigments in makeup. My mom is allergic and she can’t wear any pinks, reds or purples near her eyes, she gets gooky and swollen, too.
Do y’all think this plum colour would work on blue/green/greyish eyes, too? Would it be worth it?

Ginger-I don’t think so. I can eat shrimp-but I don’t eat them often.But that’s interesting-next time I have some I’ll have to keep a closer EYE on any symptoms. (hahaha)
I have the same color eyes as you do and it looked beautiful!! I still wish I could wear it.
Have you tried the mascaras of Dr. Hauschka? They are really fab and among other colours there is one called “eggplant” (aka plum).
