The new trend in skincare is brightening products for the skin. Perhaps it’s our obsession with perfection or with increased sun exposure leading to more skin problems, but women want their skin to be clearer and brighter.
This spring, Aveda has come out with their own line of brighting products called Enbrightenment. It’s a full range that includes a cleanser, mask, toner, serum, and light cream for the face, and one that’s heavier.
One of my favourite products is the mask which is super-moisturizing and will help your skin look less dull. The light face cream is also great – it’s moisturizing but not greasy and has a little bit of shimmer to make your skin glowy.
Whether long-term use will make your skin brighter remains to be seen, but it makes your skin look better right away which is worth looking into.

Is there a difference in the cosmetic world between brightening, lightening and whitening? For me, I want radiant, bright skin, however I also find I don’t look good at all when I am pale. My skin has very yellowy-green undertones that can look almost sickly in the middle of winter. I have been using self-tanning products to give myself a bit of a summer glow all year long. Are these products meant to make the skin more radiant, or more pale?
I have really pale skin with some very light brown sunspot around my eyes. I am skeptical but I am going to try this product. I will keep you all posted with the results.
Kathleen, I think that these will make your skin radiant and get rid of sunspots and age spots. If you feel like you look too yellow-green in the winter, that might be something that you can fix with a color-correcting powder.
