The hottest skincare trend this summer is charcoal as an ingredient to solve everyone’s skincare woes. The marketing copy reads that it can absorb oil, and make pores smaller, giving skin a refined look.
Boscia, a line sold at Sephora that makes products with any preservatives, has introduced Pore Purifying Black Strips, which look a lot like Biore’s Pore Strips that were launched years and years ago. Those strips were applied to wet skin and adhered to pore cloggers. When the strip dried, you pulled it off and were left with clean pores. The only downside is that your pores just get filled up again, and the strips don’t prevent that.
Boscia’s strips are exactly the same, except they are black due to the addition of charcoal powder. They promise to do what the Biore strips did, and honestly work just as well as their drugstore counterparts.
The strips have rave reviews on Sephora.com and they do work. However, I like the Biore strips better because of one key difference: the colour. I prefer the white of the Biore strips because you actually get to see the gunk that you pulled out of your nose and that’s half the fun! I know it sounds gross, but you know that it really works that way, and that feeling of satisfaction just doesn’t happen when you use Boscia’s black strips.
You can purchase these strips for about $15 at Sephora stores.
Have you tried them? What do you think?
