Dark Lipstick – Can You Pull it Off?

A couple of nights ago, Lea Michele attended the Glee premiere wearing falsies and a shade of lipstick that’s darker than her usual.  The deep maroon colour is all over fashion mags for September, and apparently is the new “it” colour.  I, for one, am a sucker for berry tones but mostly for those that look like my own lip colour but better.  Lea Michele, who usually looks great with a nude lip or something more natural, reaffirms my thought that the new dark lippies are just good in theory and are better left on the runway.  What do you think?  Are you going to be wearing a dark lipstick this season and if so, what shade are you choosing?

  1. YES!!! Dark berries and purples are in this fall. It’ll be tough matching the right shade with your skin tone, but I think once you find that perfect match, it’ll be sultrilicious!

I’ll be wearing dark lipstick this Fall like I do every Fall. They suit me well and I like to keep the rest of my makeup toned down when I wear a strong lip colour.

I like the dark berry lips, but on some people it can be so harsh and sometimes even aging. Lea Michelle looks so old in that shot-but I also think those hilights are doing nothing good for her either.

Tracy – I definitely agree that it can look aging especially if you’re very young.
