Day 2 at L’Oreal Fashion Week was hectic – 8 shows and whole lot of running around. I did, of course, take pictures of all the makeup looks before the models went on the runway. I was also able to find out what products the makeup artists were using to achieve the amazing looks. You’ll see a lot of smoky eye makeup using browns instead of blacks.
The one exception is the look for the Arthur Mendonca show which kicked off the day. To the right is the look – lots of dark eyeliner and very little other makeup.
Hanes Brands also put on a runway show featuring items that you’ll be able to find at any Bay or Sears stores. The look was sexy – flowing hair and a smoky brown eye that was shimmery and not too over-the-top. The model has curlers in her hair that only served to give it some volume. Once the curlers were taken out, the hair was brushed through to give it a very slept-in look – perfect for a show that featured a lot of pyjamas and lingerie.
The lip wasn’t nude – it was a cross between nude and natural. The artists used one colour of lipstick that looked good on all the models.
It was such a pretty colour that the model wanted to know what it was. The colour was, of course, Aishwarya Beige from the L’Oreal Star Secrets collection.
The eye makeup was done using L’Oreal Wear Infinite Quatuors in Earthscape. It’s a beautiful selection of colours and after seeing the makeup artist use it, I want to get my hands on a quad too!
The next show was for a fresh new designer named Lucian Matis. His clothing was dramatic and almost costumy. The look for the show was similarly dramatic. Again, a smoky look using browns was featured and big hair.
After putting lipsick on the models, the makeup artists too a brush and dabbed white eyeshadow in the middle of their lips. The result was a very pouty mouth. You could replicate the effect at home by using white eyeshadow put only dabbing a very slight amount on.
The look for the Andy The-Anh show was metallic using silvers and greys. The colour that every makeup artist was using was L’Oreal Wear Infinite Mono in Pure Silver. They used a dark black shadow to line the eyes. The hair was straight and pulled back – quite simple, really so that the beautiful dramatic clothes were really at the centre of attention.
I hope you’re all enjoying the preview of the fall looks as much as I am! Stay tuned for Day 3!
