Goodness gracious, this perfume is certainly testament to the fact that a good scent can cheer you up and totally make your day. When I smelled this goody, I was floored. It’s fresh, it’s new, and best of all it’s going to be available!
Up until recently, Emporio Armani White for her wasn’t available on this side of the pond but that’s changed thanks to the Red initiative. Coming July, Armani will be adding White to its permanent Canadian catalogue of fragrances.
You’ll know that they’re in stores because the bottles are hard to miss. Designed by Ghana-born artist, Owusu Ankomah, the bottles portray “positive, symbolic charms”. They are to be a graphic representation o f”The Wild Child”. The bottles are limited edition.
The scent itself is inspired by white cotton – it’s a cocktail of mandarin, Bergamot, blackcurrant leaves, mint and green fig, clove, ginger, musks, and white woods. On my skin, I mostly smell the Bergamot with a mixture of musk and green fig. It’s refreshing and a classic fragrance. You have to smell it for yourself to know how amazing it is – it appeals to a wide range of noses too, which is excellent considering that the product is being launched here to raise money for AIDS.
Below is a sample of Owusu’s work from his website so that you can get an idea of what Armani may have been inspired by. Owusu created a number of symbols, and Armani is using a few of them at a time for select products. This perfume is one of them. If you’d like to see some of the other symbols, take a look at the flickr photoset created for the project.
