Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Capri – Summer 2012

Estee Lauder’s new summer 2012 collection will be on counters in March, and here’s what you can look for.

The collection is inspired by the Italian island of Capri, and so has shades that remind one of the beautiful waters surrounding the island, and the lush vegetation. There will be a Bronze Goddess Capri eau Fraiche (skin scent) that will have notes of mandarin, lemon, jasmine, peony, vanilla, amberwood, and patchouli. Can’t wait to smell that!

Here’s what the makeup collection includes:

For Face:
NEW Pure Color Illuminating Powder Gelée in Shimmering Sands $50.00
Bronze Goddess Luminous Liquid Bronzer $34.50
Bronze Goddess Soft Matte Bronzer $40.00
Bronze Goddess Soft Shimmer Bronzer $40.00
Bronze Goddess Soft Duo Bronzer $40.00

For Lips:
NEW Pure Color Gloss in Shimmering Mirage $24.00
Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick in Tiger Eye $32.00
Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick in Urban Auburn $32.00

For Eyes:
NEW Pure Color Five Color Gelée Powder EyeShadow Palette in Bronze Sands $48.50
NEW Pure Color Intense Kajal Eye Crayon Duo in White Sands/Molten Lava $28.00
Sumptuous Waterproof Bold Volume™ Lifting Mascara in Black $23.50

For Nails:
NEW Pure Color Nail Lacquer in Molten Lava $25.00

I have the Pure Color Illuminating Powder Gelée in Shimmering Sands, and I just had to post a swatch of it. It’s become my favourite bronzer and I’m actually quite surprised at that.

Don’t just look at this one from afar – you have to try it on your skin. The shimmer of the bronzer makes it look lighter than it really is in the palette, but actually it’s quite dark. The colour is a reddish bronze, which always looks more natural than a plain brown. There’s shimmer in this but not too much and when you apply it on your foundation, the shimmer is actually quite toned down.

Check out my swatch:

The foam brush actually applies it in a streak, so I use that to deposit colour and then use a Sephora Cream Blush Brush to blend it in, and then set everything with a powder.

On counters this March.
