I don’t usually like foam cleansers, as a girl with dry skin living in a dry weather city. Garnier Moisture Rescue Cleansing foam, however, claims to maintain moisture, and leave skin clean, refreshed and smooth to the touch.
This cleansing foam contains grape water extract, which has antioxidant properties, and apple water extract, which helps to maintain skin’s moisture barrier.
The product starts off with a heavier, creamy sort of texture, and produces tons of foam when you lather. It also has a really nice, fresh cucumber scent to it, which is always a plus for face wash, especially in the morning.
I didn’t find that this was particularly great at removing makeup, especially around the eyes. It’s not bad at taking off anything light, like tinted moisturizer, but if you’re wearing foundation you’re probably going to need another, tissue off makeup remover first.
While it’s not overly drying, it’s probably more of a summer weight moisturizer if you’re like me, and have dry skin. Oily skin girls, I would absolutely recommend that you try this, because it does a really good job of removing surface oil without completely sucking your skin dry.
Overall, I think this is a pretty solid product. Bearing in mind that ALL foaming cleansers are drying, this one does a pretty good job at not making your skin feel too tight after cleansing. Also, it costs around $9, which won’t break the bank, and it’s comparable to some of the higher end foaming cleansers out there, like Shiseido and Clinique’s versions.
If you like the squeaky clean feel of foaming cleansers without the dry tightness afterward, this is definitely worth a try.
