GOSH Professional Permanent Cream Hair Colour Review

First they started with their makeup, and now you can buy their hair products too.  When I was last in the drugstore, I was in the mood for something new and so I picked up GOSH Professional Permanent Cream Hair Colour.

They claim that this covers 100% of grey in 30 minutes and contains moringa seed extract that can condition hair and give it shine.

I got the product in Darkest Brown and it did indeed cover the bits of grey that I had, which I was pleased with.  I also liked that it was a nice thick cream so it was super easy to apply and I didn’t have any drips after it was in my hair.

The one thing I didn’t like about this is that it gives quite a flat matte colour to your hair.  There are no tones or translucent aspects to the hair colour, and if I wasn’t just touching up my roots, I would be very wary of using this all over my hair.  It would just make it way too dark.

I also had a hard time really getting that clean feeling in my hair after using this.  After rinsing the first time, my hair felt almost stiff and sticky and didn’t dry the way that I would like it to.  It took a couple of shampoos 24 hours later to really get my hair back to the way that I like it.

At $9.99 from Shoppers Drug Mart, I definitely didn’t break the bank on this hair colour, but I don’t think that I’ll be buying it again.

I’ve been using GOSH hair colour for quite a few years now and I LOVE it. It has the best coverage and the colour lasts longer than other brands I’ve tried and doesn’t leave my hair feeling like straw, it’s beautiful and shiny . Downside, it seems the colour I’ve been using has been discontinued, or so it seems because no one in any of the Shopper’s Drug Marts I’ve checked are able to tell me why it’s no longer on the shelf with the other colours and I’ve been enquiring for a few months now. I use(d) “Blackest Black” and it really is a true black and no others can compare so I’m highly disappointed. Looks like I won’t be using GOSH again.

I love GOSH hair colour as well, and was really disappointed to no longer see it stocked at Shoppers Drug Mart. I believe they were the only ones carrying it. Too bad, it has the best coverage and long lasting colour that I love! 🙁

I too am disappointed that SDM does not carry GOSH hair colour anymore. I used it because it is cruelty free, does not test on animals. My local SDM had light brown left on sale so I bought the last 6 boxes. I will now have to look for other hair colour that is cruelty free.

I truly enjoyed the Gosh Professional Hair Colour Unfortunately Shoppers has decided not to carry it any more. Is there anywhere that I can still obtain it. Tried another brand & was truly dissatisfied with it totally. The colour was no where near what I thought it was going to be. Really would like to go back to the Gosh brand. So please help if you can

Can anyone help me out? I have fairly long hair and some would say its thick despite what i think about it…i normally use two boxes when using other products such as vidal sassoon or feria (which fade like crazy). as soon as i opened the GOSH boxes i noticed how small the bottles of developer were (only 50ml) and now i am wondering if i should have bought more….for anyone with long thick hair (about bust length), how much do you use??

    Thanks!

Tried gosh for the first time and I loved it. I read some of the other comments here and I feel that maybe some did not dye properly. I know a lot on women who like to wash their hair before dying. Never ever wash hair before dying and try to only wash hair once every 48 hours. After dying your hair needs it’s natural oils more than ever. Washing every 24 hours does not give your hair enough time to repair itself naturally. I have been dying my hair for 13 years and this method has helped me keep my hair healthy after dying. Just had to put that oUT there for those who don’t know. As for the product I loved it will be buying gosh for now on

I tried this hair color for the first time and I am so disappointed!!!! I used the gloves and my hands are dyed brown, my hair is just touching my shoulders and there was barely enough to get to the ends and my head is dyed dark brown! I’ve never had a hair dye that is so hard to get off skin! It’s insane and I am so angry! Wish I could add photos!

I’m extatic!!! After trying Nice’n’Easy and a semicolor to cover gray roots (about 20%), I finally got it with Gosh 251 Medium Ash Brown.
    1. The colour shown on the box is exactly what I got – just half a shade lighter than my natural hair. (I consider my colour to be Dark Blond, not Medium Brown, but I went by the picture).
    2. No smell of ammonia. Awesome!
    3. Did not drip. On the opposite, it was quite creamy.
    4. No build up after. After reading the comments while I was waiting for the dye to develop, I used a touch of shampoo and my own conditioner.
    5. The colour blended amazingly well with my bleached ends. My advise, use a mixing bowl and a brush – that way you get it precisely where you want it and no waste of dye as you can scrape it all.
    6. I agree the amount could be bigger, not enough for entire head with medium length.
    Overall, extremely happy!

Will never use it again. Gloves ripped before I even got them on. Dye was runny and did not spread easily. I have short hair and barely had enough to do my hair.
