Great Exfoliator

You all know that I try a lot of products and some times it’s hard to get excited about each and every one. And then every once in a while I come across a product that completely blows all the others out of the water, and I just can’t wait to talk about it.

The Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser is that product.
neutrogena waveWhen you turn the Wave on it starts to vibrate and makes a humming sound. The cleansing disk is attached to the Wave using velcro and already has cleanser in it. You wet the Wave, and start rubbing it on your face as it’s vibrating. You’ll see a little bit of lather produced but not much. Just keep rubbing your face with it for a couple of minutes.

When you’re done, you will notice cleaner and softer skin. Moreover, after using it continuously for a few days, you’ll see that your skin is much clearer! I think that this works by literally vibrating the gunk out of your pores. It really really works and is worth every penny. If you’re wondering about the size, it fits neatly into the palm of your hand. You can find it at drugstores everywhere!

This is actually sitting somewhere in my bedroom. I’ve heard fabulous things about it. I’m going to go home today and try it out!

I keep seeing the ads for it and have been wondering if it’s good. I wish I could put my own cleanser on it though. My skin has never reacted well to wet-and-cleanse type products :\

You can put your own cleanser on it if you wish. I actually tried the Wave like that too and found that it gave me more lather, but my skin was fine when I just stuck to the Neutrogena cleanser also.

how much does this thing cost. If you can put your own cleanser on it that would be awesome. I’m a dermalogica girl

$17.99 plus tax Canadian at Shoppers. I tried my Dermalogica cleanser on it too and liked the results, but if I’m in a rush I just use it by itself.

Sounds great! Is there anything like this you suggest for exfoliating the whole body. I have mild eczema and my skin can react to the harsh surface of gloves and other products. Is there something like this for the body?

Great to catch up on what I missed.
    Thanks for this post…

Question..How often would you say you need to replace the pads?

This is the kind of product, I was waiting for! looks cool and does a great job.
A question- Does regular cleansing with the Neutrogena make your skin dry and flaky. Also does the pore size of your skin increase with the consistent usage of this pink lady!
    Let me know. Cheers…

No the Neutrogena cleansers don’t make my skin dry and flaky. I’ve actually used many of their cleansers before and this never happened, and even when I use this exfoliator a couple times a week I dont’ see this effect.

And your pore size always stays the same, no matter what. That is a fact, so no, your pore size doesn’t increase with the use of this gadget.

Luxual, I would say that I replace the pads after every single use because they do start to look dirty after just one use and using it again on your face is gross.

A good cleaner , I use it too.

Mines broke (I think I got water in it), and I dont know how to fix it, is there a way that I could make it work again?

  14. Henna May 11, 2009 at 9:46 pm #

    HI Tina,

I have no idea how to fix it! Weird that it broke because of water, because I’m assuming that they know we’re going to rinse it and such…

Can you get a new one? I know it’s more expensive than buying the refills but it might be worth it if you really liked it…

A make up tip that is very important is whatever you apply, the key is always BLEND, BLEND, and BLEND…:). Try which one is the best for your make up.

Is it really similar to Clarisonic? I have Clarisonic and it does make my skin feel softer after and removes a lot of makeup that pads don’t, but I’m still left with blackheads!

I think this is like the Clairsonic but not as good. It doesn’t have bristles that move, just a vibrating pad that you wipe all over your face. It’s good and more powerful than manual washing but not as good as the Clairsonic.
