How Can I Make My Skin Lighter?

I get a lot of questions from people who would like to make their skin lighter. How can you do it?

If you’re just trying to get rid of a tan or some scarring, your best bet is to incorporate a Glycolic Acid product into your routine everyday. There are some great ones on the market, from Neutrogena, to Neostrata, Reversa, and Dermaglow. All are excellent and you’re going to be getting concentrations anywhere from 3% to 10%.

Glycolic Acid helps speed up the skin’s regular exfoliation cycle so that means that your skin is going to get rid of its darkness a little bit more quickly.

You should notice a difference in about 2 weeks, and while you’re using the products stay out of the sun and wear sunblock every single day.

  1. Hi. I have a question. Will this work for dark elbows? I’ve not been able to find a solution to lighten them up. Thanks!

  2. Melia, they say that it’s for hyperpigmentation – I don’t know if that’s what’s going on with the dark elbows and I haven’t tried it on them. It’s kind of expensive to just be using on your elbows.
But, if you try it, let me know what happens!

  4. I’m Mexican, but people say I look black. When I’m not, And it gets reeeaallyy annoying. I don’t think that I’m that dark. But mostly everyone at my school is white, and all they really care aout is how tall/short or how light/dark you are, so I feel I like I stick out. I have a Black friend and people sometimes say that I’m darker then her! So it would be nice if this really works. And if there was something that would make me a lighter but not too light. Gracias[:
