Lancome Thakoon Lipstick – Now Available!

lancome thakoonLancome’s Pout-a-Porter lipsticks are always widely anticipated by fashion and beauty lovers alike. For both it’s a chance to hold something from Fashion Week in your own hands. The Behnaz Red and the Proenza Pink might not have been for everyone, but here’s a shade that’s a little more universal: Thakoon’s Pixel Pink. lancome thakoon lipstickInfluenced by a pixelated floral print, the lipstick is a shiny sheer raspberry and is perfect for a natural minimalist look. Starting today, you can get the lipstick on Lancome-USA.com and beginning March 1st it will be available at Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, and Lancome’s standalone boutiques in the U.S. If you can get your hands on it early, expect to pay $25… after that, the sky’s the limit when it comes to snaring one of these lipsticks.

jI know this isn’t nice from me to say, but the model has a very ugly zit on her lip. Still, I like the Pixel Pink a lot, but I won’t be able to get it since I don’t live in the USA… :(

I don’t think that’s a zit, I think it’s a mole.. and I suspect that this is a backstage-type photo rather than an advertising campaign which is why they’ve left her natural. I, for one, totally support that. I’d rather see models in their natural glory than airbrushed to some sort of unattainable mannequinesque picture.

Truthfully the lip color is almost invisible to me. The blush she is wearing really overpowers her face & is quite distracting. Much too pink for her complexion in my opinion.

Well, it’s runway makeup. It’s meant to inspire not be copied. If you want to translate the look to the street, you’d probably take the essence of the colours she’s wearing. Pink on the cheeks, colour on the eyelids, and natural-looking lipstick. Overall, the look is fresh and vibrant. If you achieve that yourself: success!

Im my ongoing quest to find out if this is ever going to come out in Canada, I’ve asked Lancome salespeople in Holt Renfrew, the Bay, Shoppers, and Sephora (I read that it was going to be available there), and no one knows. Even more shocking is that none of them had even heard of it! Does anyone know if this will ever be available outside the U.S.?

As I mentioned in the post it will only be available in the U.S. and it is likely already sold out.
