Leighton Meester’s Pewter Shadow

There weren’t any crazy looks at the 2011 People’s Choice Awards last night, but still, we were inspired.  The makeup was pretty but it was still there.  The normally smoky eyes were toned down, and the blush was more coral than pink this year, which means that we’re going to stock up on some bronzer too.

Take a cue from the always adorable Leighton Meester.  Grab your pewter shadow and use it all the way around the eyes, and match your cheeks with a mocha or even orangy lip colour.  I have to say that this look was much better on television than in this picture, but it still works.

Also, did anyone notice the eyebrows?  Brows are definitely more grown in this year, and Leighton’s are a good indication of the way things are going.  As long as your brush them into an arc, they can look good – but I’m not trying this look at home just yet.

I like the makeup, but I’m with you-not crazy about her brows. I’m all for the less touching your brows is better, but I think they should at least look neat and cleaned up. It’s almost one step away from the uni-brow being in next! hahahahaha

She’s a doll, and I love the makeup but I agree with Tracy on the eyebrow point, I like defined strong eyebrows. Unless you’re less than 14 years old these eyebrows are tricky to pull off…

  3. Hmmm I’m on the fence. The shadow looks great, makes her brown eyes look extra chocolaty. I’m just not too sure about the eyebrows.
You said that might be a direction this year? Yikes! I don’t think I can follow, my brows can get pretty unruly lol.

I agree. They’re a trend but I think people should stick to shapes that work for their faces. One option is to fill out your brows with powder and that can be a temporary way to wear the fuller brows.
