Marchesa Parfum d’Extase Review

Marchesa – the line worn at virtually red carpet event around the world – launched a new perfume that is supposed to be a companion to their glamorous line of clothing.  The perfume bottle itself reflects the brand’s sensibilities – simplicity paired with some bling.  It’s a clean cut crystal looking bottle with a trim of crystals lining the outside.

What’s actually surprising is how accessible the scent is.  Sold at Sephora, the scent is a powdery floral that reminds me of fresh sudsy soap.  The idea is that you let your clothes and accessories speak for themselves, rather than your scent.  It’s very wearable being quiet but long-lasting.  This is a perfume that only those that hug you will be able to smell, and everyone else will just think that you took a shower just before you arrived.  Those kinds of perfumes are not usually my cup of tea, but for some reason, Marchesa really resonates with me because of the blend of florals.  The notes are iris, freesia, violet leaves, night-blooming jasmine, ambrox and musks.  It’s definitely a clean feminine scent.

Pick it up at Sephora: $72 for 1 oz.
