My Favourite Lip Balms

My sister has turned into quite the beauty aficionado and takes it upon herself to find the best of everything, so when she was telling me that she just bought a lip balm from Lush because her lips were perpetually dry, I had to share some of my favourites too, and I thought I’d share them all with you.

2015 favourite lip balms1. Fresh Sugar Shine Lip Treatment. Believe it or not, this is actually better than the original Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment. It is super glossy and just slightly sticky, but it really hydates the lips and makes them look great. I keep it in my car, because invariably that’s where I realize how dry my lips are and have a moment to treat them. The Lip Shine is available in seven colours (all of which are sheer but provide a dose of shiny pigment) as well as a clear version. Go for a colour, and then you can go anywhere with it. ($18.50)

2. Hourglass No. 28 Lip Treatment Oil. This is the priciest of the bunch but not for no reason. The applicator is gold-plated and the treatment is a blend of oils. Goes on nice and thick and is an awesome option for night time because it lasts on the lips.  ($42)

3. Nivea Lip Butter. This is on the opposite end of the spectrum because it’s from the drugstore – it’s super cheap and it works. Rich and thick, albeit filled with petroleum jelly, this does the trick for extremely chapped lips and skin. It’s an awesome barrier cream for those days that are extremely cold and windy. ($2.99)

4. Finally, Eos lip balm. Now available in a smooth sphere and enriched with coconut oil, these do an awesome job at keeping lips hydrated and come in a wonderful portable package. Get a pack of three – you’ll love them so much that you’ll want one everywhere. ($6)
