Take a look in your bathroom – you’ll probably notice at least one natural beauty product either on your bathroom counter or somewhere in your shower. Whether it’s a scrub, a serum, or your Moroccan Oil, natural beauty products are no longer a fad; they are here to stay and actually are effective on most skin problems.
Lately, we’ve found that there have been some great new options in the market of natural beauty products, and here are some highlights:

1. Intelligent Nutrients. Actually this line isn’t completely new but it’s on the more modern side. It’s based out of Minnesota and was created by one of the founders of Aveda. The products are all certified organic and are supposed to be good for you outside and in. One of the interesting things about Intelligent Nutrients is that they even sell vitamins and body oil that can be ingested or rubbed on the skin. They’ve even opened up an organic salon in Minneapolis which I think is a really neat concept. Imagine going to the salon and not having to worry so much about fumes or anything that might not be savoury for your lungs. You know that the salon is going to have high standards and you can go there with peace of mind. Expect to hear about this company more – we are expecting big things!
2. Nutriganics from The Body Shop. This new line of certified organic skincare products from The Body Shop is proven to reduce fine lines or wrinkles. From cleanser to face mask, I would say that this line is more suitable for people who have dry skin. The products are creamy and well-formulated to really pamper the skin, and they’re not overly scented either so if you’re sensitive to that sort of thing, this is a line you can trust.
3. Lavanila. I included Lavanila because most of their products are almost 100% natural. I never would have thought that I would ever use natural deodorant, but I use their The Healthy Deodorant and it is wonderful! I love the vanilla scent of it (I’ve been a baby powder girl thus far and it was getting kind of boring), and my underarms have never been softer or smoother. No, this doesn’t compare to the clinical deodorants out there, but if you want to smell good and feel fresh, this natural deodorant is a great option. Again, surprising things from this company – they bring you natural products but remain high-end and effective. You can get Lavanila products (including the deodorant) from Sephora.
4. Sea pure from H2O+. Sea Pure is the 100% natural face and body care line from H2O Plus – the clincher here is that all the products are housed in biodegradable packaging. Again, the face products are on the moisturizing side, but the body care products are spa-quality and good for all skin types. There’s a body mud which is especially refreshing to use and rids the skin of all the toxins. The products are great-smelling but free of all synthetic fragrances. Check out the line at H2O kiosks and stores.

Haven’t tried their deodorant yet but I can speak very highly of Lavanila’s fragrances! They are the only ones that don’t make me sneeze immediately after spraying them!
Intelligent Nutrients is also an amazing line. When I was at the press preview, the founder (Horst) actually poured one of the hair products into a glass and DRANK it! That’s how pure it is! He really opened my eyes to what harmful ingredients are in many beauty products (as much as I hate to hear it!).
I don’t know – I think that the harmfulness of ingredients in beauty products is debatable. Every generation sees that email about how bad deodorant is for you and yet, we still don’t have any proof of that and people have been using it for decades!
Deciding what I put in and on my body is purely results based for me. If a product works, then I’ll use it.
