This year’s Estee Lauder Private Collection scent is Jasmine White Moss. It’s an interesting scent because it’s one that was started by Estee Lauder herself and then abandoned for whatever reason. Aerin Lauder found it in IFF’s vaults (International Flavors and Fragrances) and decided to update it and bring it back. Since the White Moss extract was created for this fragrance, I am guessing that this began as a Jasmine fragrance, and then the white moss and other notes were added to it.
If you’re a fan of jasmine or floral fragrances (and I am) then this is a good one to add to your collection because it is unusual. The White Moss adds a depth and earthiness not usually found in florals and because it’s mixed with the white jasmine, the overall scent just reminds you of freshly cut Jasmine flowers or a jasmine plant in your home (yes, I have smelled both of these, we have a Night Blooming Jasmine in our home).
You can pick up this scent at Holt Renfrew stores in Canada. The Eau de Parfum retails for $80 for 30ml and $145 for 75 ml. You can also pick up the 30 ml Parfum for $345 which has a bottle cap embellished with White Jade, dark and light Lapis, Sodalite, Black Agate, Mother of Pearl and Blue Lace Agate stones.
