Review: Living Proof Hold Flexible Hairspray

I’ve been encouraged after using Living Proof’s Full Thickening Cream, so I turned my attention to their Hold Flexible Hairspray.

I don’t really do updo’s or styles that are fussy, but I do need my hairspray on the days that I’ve straightened my hair.  I like to have a nice curl at the bottom of my hair, and I use the hairspray to hold that in place.  Straight hair needs to be bouncy and touchable, and it’s important that my hairspray works and yet doesn’t make my hair too stiff.

The Living Proof product was perfect for that – in fact, it worked so well that I didn’t even have to restyle my hair the next day!

The hairspray smells good, and really keeps all kinds of humidity out of your hair, but it doesn’t make the hair hard like a traditional hairspray.  When I used this, the curl at the ends of my hair was preserved and didn’t fall flat after a few hours, like it has with some other hairsprays.

If you want something that’s going to keep your hair looking fabulous, I would get this spray.  It’s fantastic for everyday use!

The hairspray is $21 at

  1. Glad our Hold Flexible Hairspray helped keep your style in tact, Henna! We also love using it as a shine spray as well since it seems to give our locks a nice, naturally lustrous finish! Thanks for such a great review!

I have thin, fly away hair that can’t handle a lot of product. What works for me is the Shielo Flexible Hair Spray. This hairspray is perfect – it’s super light and smells great. You can still work with your hair afterwards. If you are looking for a stiffer hairspray, I would not recommend this. This one is great for curls that you don’t want to douse in nasty stick hairspray or weigh down.

Hi there, it looks like this hairspray has been discontinued or rebranded. You can find a version of it at Sephora but I have not tried newer versions or anything from Living Proof for that matter, in the last little while. I have also seen the brand at salons around the city so maybe ask a stylist for something that’s flexible but still helps preserve your hairstyle. I hope that helps.
