I picked up the Sephora Instant Moisturizer a few weeks ago when they were out of my regular moisturizer (which was out because it had been featured on Oprah. Go figure). I was really just looking for something to get me by until my regular moisturizer was in stock again.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that this moisturizer is antioxidant, and actually pretty great. It’s formulated with an ingredient called HydroSenn+, which is proven to deliver immediate and long-lasting hydration more effectively than hyaluronic acid, according to Sephora.
It’s oil-free, and I found that it felt light and absorbed quickly, but left my skin with that nice, plump, just moisturized feel. Now, it is the dead of winter, so my skin didn’t feel as moisturized as I like in the morning, but it was very soft and the formula did reduce the redness I sometimes get in the morning. If your skin doesn’t need something too heavy in the winter anyway, this is definitely a product I would look into.
It doesn’t have an SPF, so while the consistency is pretty good as a day cream, you’ll still need a separate sunscreen, which might deter some folks. Who needs an extra step in their morning routine, right? Sephora says that there are light reflecting pigments in the moisturizer as well, but I didn’t notice anything along those lines.
I found that the fragrance was a little bit strong, but that didn’t really effect how it worked. It doesn’t have any parabens, sulfates, phthalates, triclosan, or mineral oil but if you have sensitive skin I would do a test patch first anyway because of the scent.
The Sephora Instant Moisturizer is an excellent bargain buy for $20 at Sephora stores, and is great as a general moisturizer for all skin types.
