It can be difficult to find a moisturizer for super parched skin – you want something that’s going to absorb and not leave your skin super greasy or prone to break outs. I know that those on a budget are going to hate to hear this, but if you want something that’s all the above and you’re prone to breakouts, then it’s probably better to head to the department store rather than the drugstore. You’ll get the best formulations with the best ingredients. If you have skin that’s not as sensitive, then you could head to the drugstore, and really, that’s where I go when I want something that’s has active ingredients.
But I digress.
Among the newest department store offerings this year is Shu Uemura’s Depsea line of hydrators. These contain seawater from very deep in the sea. The water naturally contains many minerals and nutrients that are good for the skin. I had just gotten a peel and so my skin was super dry and difficult to manage. So at night before I went to bed, I used the Depsea Hydrability moisturizing cream to help relieve dryness. I found that by the morning, my skin was super soft and smooth to the touch, and there was no dryness to be seen. What’s more is that I didn’t have to use the moisturizer during the day for the effects to last so I could still use my ProActive and Luminxyl when I needed to.
You can get the entire Dep Sea line from Holt Renfrew here in Canada.
