The Environ Facial

It’s the end of the summer, and that means that it’s time to revitalize the skin and get ready for fall.  In my world: a facial was needed.

So I headed to Dk.Envy to get The Full Monte – the Environ Vitamin Facial.

Environ is a skincare line from Europe that specializes in products that have active ingredients to make the skin look its best.  The products are chock full of Vitamin A, C, and alpha hydroxy acids.

The facial uses these ingredients and then uses a sonophorises machine to help penetrate the nutrients into the skin.  Sonophorses actually uses ultrasound waves to stimulate the skin and can deliver up to 4000% the active ingredients compared to not using the machine at all.  The technology is even used at hospitals for drug delivery, but at Dk.Envy they use it on your face so that your skin can absorb all the benefits of the vitamins!

The Environ facial is for everyone but especially useful if you have the following skin conditions:

• Loss of Elasticity
• Anti-Ageing
• Lines & Wrinkles
• Scarring
• Uneven skin texture
• Dry or Dehydrated Skin
• Oily Skin
• Acne or Congested Skin
• Dull or Sluggish Skin
• Sensitive Skin
• Broken Capillaries
• Blocked Pores
• Improving condition of the skin
• Pigmentation

Environ has fantastic before and after images on their website showing what a difference the facial can make if you get it regularly!

The facial of course begins with a thorough cleansing of the skin followed by extractions.  Once your skin is thoroughly cleansed, the vitamins and glycolic acid are applied and the machine is placed on your face.  I should mention here that the percentage of glycolic acid used by Environ is very low.  They start at 2% and if you’re a newby, that’s the amount your going to get.  Considering that you can get an 8% cream at the drugstore, this is a rather low amount, but because it’s on your skin for a while the sonophorses machine is used during it, many people will find that 2% is enough for them.

Before getting the facial, I had been warned by Alana at Dk.Envy about the machine.  “You’ll see lights,” she said, “but those are from the machine.”

I did indeed see lights while the machine did its magic on my face.  There’s also a gentle humming while the machine is one, and overall the experience is really not anything extreme.  If you’re claustrophobic, beware.  The machine is really like a thick mask on your face, and though there are holes for your nose and your mouth, the entire experience of being under it is rather constricting.  I was fine during the treatment, but at the same time, I was looking forward to it being over too!

The last part of the facial is the application of a mask to calm, brighten, and hydrate the skin.  You get a mini massage, and lots of moisturizer, and you’re on your way!

People say that you should break out after a good facial, but I don’t believe that.  I don’t think that you should be clogging your pores during or after the facial, and the theory that there was already gunk under the skin waiting to come up just doesn’t sit well with me.  A good facial should leave your skin cleansed, hydrated, and clearer than before, and that’s exactly what I got with this Environ Facial.  My skin is definitely clearer, and the little bit of scarring that I had is pretty much gone.  I’m happy with the results and would definitely recommend the facial to anyone.

Dk.Envy charges $135 for the Full Monte Facial, and a maintenance facial is $120.

You know I have NEVER had a facial? Crazy, right? Especially considering I work in the beauty industry! I’m going to have to take of that before I get outed as a faker, haha!

And yeah, by the way that breakout myth has never made any sense to me either…that’s just not how skin works!
