We Officially Love Mineral Makeup

So if you didn’t know that mineral makeup is here to stay, get with it!  Almost every brand has their version, and they’re not all the same formula either.  Some brands use pearl powder in theirs (Laura Mercier) while others are mica-based, and still others are very matte (L’Oreal).  We loved MAC and Lancome’s versions the best, but it turns out that are readers have their favourites as well because the comments are always a-buzzing!

Want to know more?  Check out some of the kinds we’ve already talked about:

Of course, before you begin applying the makeup, you’ll need to moisturize and use a good primer. It will help your skin look absolutely flawless and your makeup will last longer.

Not impressed by traditional primers – there’s a spray one that is amazing.

Also make sure that you have the right brushes for your mineral makeup.

Once you have the necessary tools, there are tons of options for the kind of makeup you can use.  There’s even a great brand from the drugstore!

Of course, there’s one brand that started making good mineral foundation long before the others and you can find it at your local spa.

Estee Lauder now has mineral makeup, as does Dior, and both lines offer a liquid mineral foundation!

Right now, I’m using Lancome Mineral Makeup and I find it to be the right coverage and colour for my skin.

Although I didn’t always love mineral makeup (I didn’t see what the big deal was), I agree that it’s probably better for your skin and my favourite thing about it is that it goes well with whatever primer I choose.

  1. I find each person loves a different formula for a different reason. I used to be a huge Bare Minerals girl and even drove south of the border to get it… until I tried Mary Kay’s mineral foundation, found it to be just as good at giving me that air-brushed look and it’s WAAAAAY less expensive… $20 for a larger container vs. $20-$25 USD for each of the 3 products required in the Bare Minerals line.

Henna, I just found you online today so I hope you don’t mind me posting twice on MK… but perhaps it’s another product you’ll love! :o )

    Okay… I’ll stop now. Teehee!

To all y’all feeling beautiful every morning, noon and night of you life!
