I made my own cereal! It was super healthy, gluten-free, with hardly any sweetener, and little pieces of chocolate, nuts, and dried berries in it.
And you can do it too – check out Mixit.ca. The concept is unique and something that’s perfect for anyone who’s on a restricted diet, or who likes to have control over the ingredients in their food.
You pick your base of cereal – granola, bran flakes, muesli, corn flakes, quinoa flakes, etc, and then add your mix-ins. These can be anything from chia seed to pea protein, nuts to berries. You can also add special ingredients such as chocolate-covered quinoa or dark chocolate flakes. I opted for both of those – obviously…
The price varies depending on the ingredients you pick, but the good thing is that you can see how much your cereal will cost as you add the ingredients. So if something’s too expensive, just don’t add it to your cereal. Prices are as expected: high-end ingredients like chia seed and goji berries are more expensive than something ordinary such as raisins.
The result is a cereal that’s not only catered to your dietary preferences but for your tastes as well. Because I picked the ingredients, it was a cereal that was perfect for my family and especially loved by my kids… who picked out the freeze-dried strawberries and chocolate-covered quinoa but didn’t like the coconut flakes and nuts. I’m ordering them a cereal of their own next time – something simpler such as berries, chocolate, and a grain.

This is such a cute idea! I love cereal but I have dietary restrictions, so this site is perfect for me.
