New Makeup From Trinny London and Fenty Beauty

Honestly, misting setting spray before I even get started with makeup (after sunscreen) is a game-changer and it helps everything last so much longer.

Trinny London has a new foundation – BFF Stay all Day – and it actually does last, but it’s very creamy and my skin is oily, so a setting spray helps it last just a bit longer. My colour is Sara – a golden toned shade that melts into skin. The finish is a modern “luminous matte” which disguises but gives a bit of luminosity that real skin actually has. Coverage is medium – I use a concealer just under my eyes.

Fenty Beauty has new shade sticks. I love that matte shades are skin-like and easy to find. The formula and finish is very similar to the eyeliners, so they’re creamy but they set to a long-wearing finish. They don’t last all day for me but they’re great for a few hours. If I wanted longer wear I would use an eyeshadow primer? B

ut I don’t think I can even be bothered most days.

Eyeshadow sticks are having a moment, even though they’ve been around for ever. Everyone remembers the Laura Mercier and Bobbi Brown ones. Fenty actually offers the next generation of the formula, where the stick actually clicks shut keeping the product creamy and without drying out – that’s the kind of formula this is and I’m wear for it. It really does stick to skin and stay put longer than regular shadow on its own.

In the end, this cool weather means my makeup isn’t melting like it has been, and maybe this is one of the last days of leather jacket weather. Holiday is just around the corner.
