Tatcha The Kissu Lip Mask

When Tatcha’s The Kissu Lip Mask first came out last fall, it sold out right away. Tatcha is becoming known for their skincare products and when you launch a lip mask before the cold winter months, people are going to want to get their hands on it.

The mask comes with a cute little gold spatula which you can use to dig out the product and apply it on your lips.  In theory, this is nice for not dipping germy fingers and nails into the jar, but… where to store it?  What to do with it after you use it?  Also, I find that when my kids use the spatula, they just scoop out so much product, and I don’t mind sharing, but it just seems wasteful.  Using their fingers gives better control over how much product they’re getting out.

Look at how gorgeous and shiny the mask is.  The main ingredient is squalane which is clear and a lovely hydrator.

And the packaging is a gorgeous little glass jar.

This lip mask actually works too – it softens dry lips overnight.

At Sephora. $36.

Boscia Vitamin C and Vichy LiftActiv Anti-aging Cream

A dynamic duo. If you’re looking for an easy peasy morning routine, this is it: Boscia Vitamin C with Vichy spf 30 “Anti-aging Cream”.

TextI always use vitamin C in my daytime routine. It’s an antioxidant so it prevents environmental damage, and it can even help your sunscreen work to its maximum potential. You could use vitamin C at night but I use other actives at night so my sunscreen is for the daytime.

The Boscia vitamin C is 10% and it is so watery that you could wear it under anything. It’s a VERY easy product to use. It absorbs almost instantly and then you can go ahead with whatever else you need to apply. The Vichy lotion is sun protection and moisturizer in one. It has a moisturizing feel and finish, and it gives you that healthy glazed donut look that we are all after these days.

*Both these products were received in PR with no expectation to post or review.

Have you tried any of them? What did you think?

Moroccanoil Mending Infusion Review

Isn’t this a gorgeous bottle? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It’s Moroccanoil Mending Infusion which is meant to seal split ends, so you use it at the end of styling as a finisher. My dry hair soaks this up, so although I started with just a couple of pumps, but I came back and ended up applying lots more, so know that you can go to town with this if you have dry hair.
Text

I have also been using this to air dry my curly hair, and before blow-drying and it’s pretty good for smoothing!  My curls are bouncy and springy which is a sign that they’ve got some moisture locked into them, and overall, I’d say I really enjoy using this!

The bottle is tiny for what I’m using in my longish hair.  I need about 15 pumps which is a lot. I’d like this to be in a squeeze tube, but then the bottle won’t be so pretty.  I’m definitely going to hang on to this and put a flower or two in it.

$32 online and where Moroccanoil products are sold.

Favourite Moisturizers: Lightest to Heaviest

These are amazing moisturizers from lightest to heaviest. ⠀

Starting on the left: Aveeno Calm+Restore Oat Gel moisturizer has a super slippery texture and lovely finish. It’s the lightest of the bunch and great for all skin types, but very dry skin will find it’s not enough. It actually has oat kernel flour in it (in small quantities, I’m sure) so it will help calm skin. Unfragranced also, so if you are sensitive to that, this is for you. About $30 at drugstores and mass merchandisers. It is $26 on Amazon right now, with a $3 off coupon available. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

In the middle: Antipodes Culture Probiotic Night Cream. What’s the difference between a night cream and a day cream? Not much, I would say. Sometimes I prefer a heavier night cream, but if my skin is super dry, I like to use something heavy during the day. Anyway, this Antipodes Night Cream has Hyaluronic acid and probiotics to help calm skin, and like all Antipodes products, this smells absolutely divine. It also has oils (jojoba and meadowfoam) to ensure that skin feels comfortable. Most mornings, I use this cream because it is so moisturizing. ($70, but if you sign up on their site, you can get 15% off.) Available at Well.ca, The Bay, and the Antipodes website. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Finally, Lise Watier’s Lift & Firm Y-Zone cream is the thickest and creamiest, thanks to the addition of shea butter. It also has Bakuchiol which has been shown to help collagen production, and because it’s so rich, this is the one that I use most nights. $88, at Shoppers Drug Mart, or on LiseWatier.com.

Foundation and Concealer Duo

Here’s a little progress shot of two things I love: Armani Luminous Silk concealer and Maybelline Urban Cover Foundation. I go through phases when I use concealer and then I don’t, but these days I’m back on it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Text

The Maybelline foundation is half done and I would for sure repurchase. This colour is warm and looks so good. The glowy finish and the SPF in the formula are icing on the cake.

I have seen it on sale for the past week, so I’m wondering if they’re going to discontinue it and come out with something new?

$13.65 on Amazon right now, and about the same at drugstores.  I think the usual price is closer to $16, which still isn’t a lot to spend on foundation.

Antipodes Divine Facial Oil

Facial products that smell good > any others. (Apologies if you are allergic to scents). This Antipodes Divine Facial Oil smells of jasmine, orange and ylang ylang. It’s a blend of Rosehip and Avocado oils that’s so nourishing. Hot tip: mist your skin before you apply the oil to really make your skin juicy.
Text

Available on Well.ca or at The Bay.

I first mentioned this product in the fall of last year, and that was when I first tried it.  I went through that bottle pretty quickly because I loved the formula so much, so now I have a new bottle. Just a few drops is enough for your whole face, and I love using this at night because the scent soothes me to sleep.

At less than $15 for the bottle, this is a steal of a deal.  This natural formula would normally cost more, and I’m surprised that it’s priced so well.

Aveeno Calm and Restore Collection

I’ve using this @aveenoca Calm and Restore line and I’ll tell you that this cleanse is a cross between Cerave and the Fresh Soy Cleanser, so if that’s your jam, get it. I like to use it in the morning but it’s not bad at taking off makeup.
Text

I love the soft slippery texture of this Aveeno Calm and Restore Oat Gel Moisturizer. I’d even say that this is the nicest gel moisturizer I’ve ever tried because of the slip in the finish. It’s light but not too light. I use it over my Vitamin C and under sunscreen.

Text

When the world seems to be going up in flames, you can perfect your skincare routine for a moment of zen. I’ve been using the moisturizer with my Cerave vitamin C in the morning and I like them! The Cerave Vitamin C is 10% and super light, and the Aveeno Calm+Restore is a lightweight slippery moisturizer. I really let them absorb and put sunscreen on before I head out the door.

Basein Magnetic Lashes

We might not be going anywhere but it’s worth it to look nice for Zoom – literally, your face is being stared at so why not.

Text

These lashes are a breeze to put on and I put on the second from the bottom. If you watched my demo reel a few weeks ago, I had tried on the shortest pair and they were shorter than my real lashes.

The ones I have on in the pictures are a smidge longer than my real lashes. The eyeliner is magnetic and the strip of the lashes just attaches on. I need to be more precise with the liner and not get it on my lashes and I’m also going to try skipping the mascara next time. This little kit came with makeup remover and I highly recommend it because the liner is IMPOSSIBLE to remove even with double cleansing. I’m going to keep playing around with these but I do love them. Someone asked me if they last once they’re applied and they do!

You can get the full set of lashes on Amazon for about $26 which is a steal of a deal.

Fragrance Layering: Serge Lutens Fleurs d’oranger and Aerin Garden Rose

Florals for spring: groundbreaking.

These 2 work really well together, but the Serge Lutens is an Eau de Parfum, so it has better lasting power, and the Aerin Garden Rose is a toilette with amazing sillage.  You smell the rose right away and for a while, but then it kind of dies down and you get the Fleurs d’oranger left.  It’s amazing. Text
