My favourite nail polish colour right now is from the OPI Scotland collection. I love a lot of colours from that collection but this is my favourite.
Hourglass Modernist Eyeshadow Palette
Found this old Hourglass eyeshadow palette from 2015 and not sure if I should keep it or give it away. I haven’t used it in 5 years!
Do you hold on to old makeup?
Derma-E Vitamin C Moisturizer
I just finished using this Derma-E Vitamin C moisturizer. I love a good vitamin C lotion and this one is great because it’s super light so you can layer it with other products.
Vitamin C! It’s the antioxidant that dermatologists and skincare specialists will recommend all the time. If you don’t have it in your regimen, it’s pretty simple to add because it comes in so many different forms. You can get serums and creams, light and heavy which means that you can incorporate it into almost any part of your skincare routine.
Derma-E, the brand that’s Vegan and on the natural side, now has a Vitamin C moisturizer added to their Intense serum. They don’t tell me what percentage of vitamin C is in the two products, but I’ll tell you that even though the serum is labelled as intense, I didn’t find it to be very strong and usually intense vitamin C products make my skin tingle in a big way. I do like that the cream has vitamin C in it and it’s a bit more moisturizing than the serum, but sometimes I use all of these together! I use the serum and put the cream on top if my skin is dry and now I’ve got an extra dose of vitamin C.
Both the lotion and the serum are awesome – and you can choose one based on how dry your skin is and what else you’re using. The lotion is on the light side, so it might not be great for those of us who have very dry skin. But either of them are a good first step and can be topped with an oil for extra moisturizing.
Derma-E is available at Well.ca, Superstore, and natural heath food stores across the country.
The Derma-E Vitamin C Concentrated Serum is $34.99, and the Derma-E Vitamin C Renewing Moisturizer is also $34.99.
I Still Love Santal 33
I know Le Labo Santal 33 is so 5 years ago, but I still love it and I feel nostalgic for 2015 every time I reach for it. It’s a mix of cedar, sandalwood, smoke and is completely a unisex scent. It’s soft but there at the same time. It feels pleasant.

But also, most boutique hotels and nice clothing stores seem to smell like it, but that’s ok. I know that it was the scent of a hip generation and I still love it. Available at Nordstrom.
7th heaven Renew You Detox & Replenish Hydrogel Mask
A hydrogel mask is so much better than a paper mask – it stays more wet on your skin and so it gives the serum a chance to go deeper into your skin and hydrate more.

This mask is light on the charcoal but great for hydrating dry skin. As with all masks, after you take this off, rub the excess serum into your face and top with a more thick cream or an oil so that your skin remains hydrated.
Seriously Radiant Skin
Here’s something that’s an amazing present for your mum, your aunt who’s visiting from another country, your boss or co-worker who’s done something sweet for you, anyone really, just buy this and keep it on hand in case you need to give someone a present on short notice.
What am I going on about? Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream!
This stuff is amazing. It’s rich and thick and frankly works so well that it should cost more than what you will pay for it at the drugstore. It’s got a high amount of hyaluronic and amino-peptides in it which makes it amazingly powerful at hydrating your skin and making it look its best.
I must admit that while I used this myself, I ended up loving it so much that I gave it to some aunts and friends who complained that they needed something to help plump up their skin and make them look better. Not only have I received glowing reviews about the products from my friends, but I can see how amazing their skin looks afterwards, and that in itself is all I need.
Anyway, this cream is great, get it at the drugstore, you’ll like it. About $30.
Neutrogena Beach Defense
I just got back from vacation and I loved using this sunscreen while I was gone. I went through the whole bottle in less than a week because everyone kept reaching for it. I’ve been using this since 2013 and it’s still one of my favourites!
Here’s a bulletin about my favourite sunscreen from last summer. Neutrogena Beach Defense sunscreen lotion for the body now comes in SPF 60! I know they say that there’s really no value of having an SPF over 30, but I figure that a higher SPF definitely doesn’t hurt and so I err on the side of caution.
I absolutely love this lotion and my whole family used it. It is light-weight, oil-free, and quick to absorb. It doesn’t leave a white cast on the body so you look normal, and it’s even waterproof (although you will have to reapply after sitting in the pool).
Because the formula is so nice, it’s a snap to apply and then reapply.

Mascara Wow!
Mascara Wow is Lise Watier’s newest mascara and the brush has bristles just like the mascaras being released these days – stiff rubber bristles that separate lashes nicely and make it easy to layer the formula.
The mascara doesn’t smudge or flake and lasts a long time while making your lashes look thick. It does what it says and it does it well!
$25 online.
Marcelle Ultimate Lash Mascara
Today’s another day for a mascara roundup, and we start with one from a line that I haven’t talked much about: Marcelle!
I’ve been trying Marcelle’s Ultimate Lash Mascara and I’m pleased to say that although it doesn’t use the newer trendier wands, it’s still a great product that really works well.
I found that it was really easy to use and with a couple of sweeps of the wand I could get a pretty fringe of lashes. The great thing about this mascara is that it both lengthened and thickened and my lashes stayed soft not crispy.
$11.99.
Miu Miu L’eau Rosee
I love me a good rose scent, but if this one is just a fresh floral that’s not too rose-filled at all. There are notes of fresh rose right at the beginning, and then there’s tons of Lily of the Valley and a touch of musk in the dry down. This is a beautiful scent that’s easy to wear especially if you like floral scents.
My only complaint is that it’s not really a unique scent. It’s fresh. It’s floral. It smells clean. But there’s nothing different or unique about it, so it’s not something I’d want to add to my fragrance wardrobe.
Pick it up at Sephora and department store perfume counters.
$102 for 50ml.
