Here’s Fenty’s The Glow Around skincare set. A set like this would be perfect for anyone who wants to get started on their skincare journey. It includes mini sizes of sunscreen, a cleanser, an acid toner and their iconic Fat Water which is a thick toner meant for hydrating before moisturizing.

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Beautifying Lip Kit
Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Beautifying Lip Kit. I tried on the HappiKiss in the colour Pillow Talk. More pink than the original PillowTalk lipstick but still pretty.
White Nail Polish, Cream Blush, Perfume Oil: Things I Love Right Now
I got SO MANY compliments on my white nails this week! I think they looked so well done – the opacity of this nail polish, and the short nails – that so many people asked me if they were fake. Of course, they’re not. They’re mine and they’re spectacular. But seriously, the Sundays polish in 01 Opaque Snow White from The Industry Shop and it is the best I’ve ever tried and I even had people ask me if they could try it.
Avarelle Pimple patches – they go on totally clear, and help apply a dose of tea tree oil to heal pimples. They are the best-selling pimple patches on Amazon, and they come in larger sizes too so that you can use them on your body.
The Fenty Beauty Cream Blush Duo that’s limited-edition and out for Christmas is so good. I use both colours – the mauve one and then a bit of the brighter pink in the centre of my cheek. I also use the mauve shade on my lips and that’s how I’m wearing it in my selfie. I love this formula and have this blush in Rosé Latte too and I think I need to pull it out again. It’s a cream-to-powder formula that blends really nicely. You could set it but even if you don’t, the finish lasts a long time as long as you don’t touch your face.
Dermablend primer. This is the best primer I’ve ever used, so I’ve gotten rid of any other primers that I had. it’s a bit of a watery gel, but it’s matte and stays matte. You could even use it on bare skin to take down the shine of sunscreen or apply it when you notice that your face is getting shiny. I even mix my foundation into it and make my own sheer tint that’s not at all oily. I’m using the Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation and the two go well together.
Riddle perfume oil discovery kit. I loved this so much that I took the whole kit to work with me but also brought it back home so I wouldn’t be without it over the weekend. I popped off the rollerball and mixed some oil into my body serum.
Empties: Neutrogena, K18, Lise Watier, Christophe Robin, Aveeno
Empties from the past few weeks. I’ve mentioned all of these in passing, and have reviewed them at some point, but here goes.
Neutrogena Stubborn Marks PM Treatment. I would say that this didn’t seem to be overly effective. They said that this had Retinol SA in it which is “highly refined” but there’s no mention of how much… The term “stubborn marks” is also vague… when there’s a new mark… it seems stubborn because of our own perception, but is that the same as a sunspot that is going to be more persistent?
I did love the Neutrogena Stubborn Texture Cleanser. It’s gently foaming so I like that but not stripping.
K18. I don’t know why, I gave this another chance. I think I’m going to say that if this is doing anything, I can’t tell, so … pass for me. Honestly, I think the best thing for my hair is the @keratinworks treatment because after it I can wash and go instead of blow-drying and maybe that’s the best thing.
Christophe Robin Luscious Curl Cleansing Balm – I love this after swimming in the pool because it’s kind of like shampoo and conditioner in one. It doesn’t foam, and it’s not for a deep clean. I only used it twice a week, but I do like it and would repurchase it.
Lise Watier Sublimessence Vitamin C serum – I loved this serum. I did think that it made my skin look more glowy and it was easy to use with my other skincare.
Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Body Wash – again, nice and not too drying. I would use it again, especially in the winter time!
Boscia Products I Love
I shared that I received a restock of my favourite vitamin C – Boscia’s Vitamin C Serum with Caviar Lime Booster. This is my favourite vitamin C for a few reasons: – the texture is watery. This means no pilling and quick absorption. – ethyl-ascorbic acid, stays stable for a longer time- packaging is not a dropper bottle which is prone to contamination and seems to let air in more quickly. – 10% concentration of vitamin C. Enough to make a difference in pigmentation over a long period of time, but not too much to feel stingy on my skin.
But this isn’t the only Boscia product in my rotation. I’m also using the Makeup-BreakUp Cool Cleansing Oil as my first cleanse, and the Thermal Black Charcoal Cleanser as my second step at night time. It’s foaming and washes everything off.
The Papaya and Pomegranate Enzyme Exfoliating Body Scrub and the Peptide Youth-Restore Firming Body Serum. No, the serum hasn’t made my body more firm but it absorbs quickly and leaves my skin super soft. It actually has niacinamide and peptides in it so that you can apply some of the same ingredients you apply on your face, to the skin on your body.
Also, the Cica Soothing Universal Cream is what goes in my gym bag, because you can use it anywhere, at any time, and it’s a soothing multi-purpose moisturizer.
They’re all available at Shoppers Drug Mart or on Amazon.
How I Got Over Fragrance FOMO
YouTube saw it first… do you have fragrance FOMO? I don’t anymore… most of the time …and here’s why. Tell me what you think… is there one that got away? Or one you wish you had? There are lots of new good smells out there. #discontinuedperfume
Fenty Beauty Double Cheek’d Up Cream Blush Duo
This is my favourite blush right now – the Fenty Beauty Double Cheek’d Up Cream Blush Duo. It’s very blendable and the perfect pop of bright colour. Try it. Limited edition – only out for the holidays.
Charlotte Tilbury Walk of No Shame Kit
Charlotte Tilbury Walk of No Shame kit. I love the coppery browns in this kit and I think it would be most flattering on someone with blue eyes. These kids are very cute and perfect for a secret Santa gift exchange or to have on hand when gifting is maybe a little unexpected.
Did you know that the Charlotte Tilbury Walk of No Shame lipstick is pretty close to the Nars Satin Matte lip pencil in Dolce Vita? I prefer lipstick over a lip pencil, so I’m happy.
Eau de Jane Perfume Review
Dewy and luminous, Eau de Jane from my friend Jane Daly. A bit of freshness is my favourite kind of smell, unless I’m in the mood for something different, depending on the weather and whatever else is going on, but floral freshness is definitely one of my favourites. Eau de Jane gives me all of this. I dipped into my warm wintery fragrances too early, and needed respite, so it gives me that. I can see myself wearing it lots in the spring and summer too because it’s so fresh but not fresh citrus. It’s kind of a spritzer because it has sparking qualities. Light and easy with lots of green but none of the sharpness of some other chypres. An opening of violet and galbanum rose blended with carnations, and ylang-ylang, eventually a woodsy smooth dry down. Easy to wear from beginning to end. It’s a green silk bouquet, fresh and clean, with no thorns, drops of water splashed on white tile. The reset button when you need it most.
Alterna Renewing Scalp Care Collection
Salt scrubs for your hair have been around for a little bit, and they’re a great way to get a really deep clean if that’s what you’re looking for. Unlike traditional body scrubs, these are foaming so they’re breaking down oils and product residue while they exfoliate your scalp.
Alterna’s new Renewing Scalp Care collection has a scalp scrub and a moisturizing leave-on treatment. The Leave-On Treatment immediately wins points for having the best applicator I’ve seen of any scalp treatment. You can part your hair and use the nozzle to put a few drops of the serum in. Unlike other scalp serums, this one is moisturizing and slightly thicker. You massage it in with your fingers and then go about your day. It doesn’t seem to mess up my blow-dry and it’s not oily or greasy either, but it’s a step more moisturizing than the ordinary scalp treatment. It also smells like coconut, which I kind of enjoy.
At the end of the day, is it my massage that’s helping my scalp or this treatment? I’ll never know, but I do like that the treatment gives me a reason to do the massage and I’m keeping it around for that.
