Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Radiant Concealer

I’m the colour 7.5 which is perfect.

This is a brightening product and it has a glowy finish. You could add powder if that’s something you don’t like. There’s also some shimmer and a teeny bit of glitter but I don’t find it to be noticeable at all. It’s also not heavy and not full coverage although you could always add more if you need to.

Have you tried it?

Fenty Beauty Favorites

A face full of Fenty – you need to try some of these if you have oily skin.

All from PR, but I’ve been loving each and every thing.

But let’s start with my favourite new foundation – the Eaze Drop Blurring Skin Tint. I wouldn’t have tried this. I haven’t used a tint in a while, but honestly, I don’t need a heavy foundation and I think most people don’t either. I rarely see anyone wearing a lot, so I think this level of coverage is it. It lasts all day, doesn’t break up, get greasy or oily, and no, I’m not using setting spray. I don’t know, I put it away in the summer and just never took it out again. I do add powder on top.

Let’s go on to the sunscreen – Hydra Vizor. It’s as good as everyone said it would be. Moisturizing but light. I put makeup on top, or not, and it’s great.

The Eaze Drop Lit highlighters? They’re sheer shimmers and good for your skin too, which means that you can wear them straight on skin, even in place of foundation. They have sodium hyaluronate to help hydrate, and are extremely light, like a serum. You could also mix with your foundation but I don’t do that, because I like my foundation the way that it is. I did dab some on my shoulders too.

The Fenty Invisimatte is great but it’s a pretty basic setting powder, if I’m totally honest. I do like that this is refillable, but I do prefer a powder in a round pan because it’s easier for my big fluffy brush to grab product. I didn’t like using this when I had just a bit left in it.

Not shown, but my favourite Fenty product is Gloss Bomb. I’ve bought them many times in many different colours. And the lip balm. Love those.

New Back to School Beauty Favourites

Text
A few things for back to school if you have someone who fits that description in your life, but also these are just good options for when life gets busier.

Boscia All-over Body Deodorant is an interesting new option to the deodorant category in general, because it’s meant to be applied to stinky parts of your body and not just to your underarms. I find this to be better than those body sprays because you’re not scenting the whole room with this, and it sticks pretty close to your body.

Alterna Meltaway No-Rinse Micellar Cleanser. This definitely not a cleanser but think of it as a refresher for all your hair, not just your roots. I like that it has a powdery finish but it doesn’t seem to build-up or mess up your style.

Neutrogena Stubborn Acne AM Treatment. With 2.5% Benzyol Peroxide, this isn’t too drying but my tip is to use it as a makeup primer because it really does a great job at keeping grease at bay. Just use a tiny amount – like a drop, and before your sunscreen.

The end of #sampleseptember

https://youtu.be/DtH07LKYTRA

The sampling actually continues, but it was good for me to do it in a intentional way and track what I was wearing. I definitely found some new loves and I’ll be finishing up some samples soon.

Perfumes mentioned:

Hermes Equipage Geranium

Guerlain L’Art et La Matière

Celine Nightclubbing

Most Worn Perfumes in September

Pre-Fall 2022 or September’s most worn, because I dove into my fall scents too early, and I had to dial it back, enjoy the gorgeous weather we had, and wear my fresher scents. September is the worst. There’s a lot going on, not enough rest, so sometimes it’s nice to close my eyes, empty my brain, and just smell my perfume.Text

I love all of these, and after sampling a million other things, I love them even more!

Chanel Bois des Iles. I know it’s called Bois des Iles, but it’s really the Ylang Ylang that shines for me when I’ve been wearing it this month. The ylang ylang and sandalwood combo really reminds me of my Samsara edt. It didn’t hit me until I wore Samsara the other night, and then wore Bois des Iles the next morning. I like Bois des Iles better for having that Chanel refinement, and a long sandalwood finish.

Serge Lutens Datura Noir. Beach vacation via bitter almond and tuberose, this got me through some long days. I keep putting it away, and then I take it out again to have it in the rotation, and now it’s just staying out.

Guerlain L’Heure Bleue edp. I’ve decided I like it better than the edt because I can use less. I like this bottle design too…

Eau de Jane… my friend Jane Daly’s perfume… I’ve gone through 2 samples, influenced others to get it, and now I have a bottle of my own. Look at the dent I’ve already made. When I wear this, I’m cool, calm, and collected. Nothing can ruffle my feathers. It’s a dewy green rose-carnation-vetiver, fresh and clean.

L’Artisan Parfumeur Coeur de Vetiver Sacre. Green tea that’s also cool. It lived in my work fridge this past month. Of everything I’ve mentioned, this is the one that I’m going to put away for now because I think I’ve had enough of it. Tell me what spoke to you this September… or which one of these you like the best.

Hair Empties: Wonder Water, Amika, Bumble and Bumble, Moroccanoil x 3!

Text
Hair empties only this week, and of course, an empty and a newbie.

I’ve always had a backup of the L’Oreal Wonder Water, because I love how smooth and soft it makes my hair, but I don’t think that I’ll be keeping a backup of it anymore because it’s hard to find and I don’t have room for all the backups of products. I do love it though. I know that people don’t like the scent, but I use it mostly on my ends and it doesn’t bother me too much. There are tons of brands that have a similar technology out now, so I would say that if this scent bothers you, try one of the other ones.

The Amika Flash Instant Shine Mask is a good option and it’s giving the same type of treatment as the L’Oreal – I actually think that I bought this one first, but I haven’t always kept it in rotation. I actually have a little mini of this and I’ll be using that next. It’s not as smoothing as the L’Oreal but it smells better and makes my hair very soft. I would repurchase.

Bumble and Bumble Blonde Conditioner. I now use these purple conditioners as an occasional hair mask, and find that they tone much better that way.

Moroccanoil Treatments – I’ve gone through 2 minis that I got free in Sephora orders and I love this treatment. It really does cut down on frizz and make your hair nicer.

Moroccanoil Mending Infusion which is like a split ends treatment. It’s ok. I didn’t love it and I wouldn’t get it again.

Clearly, I’m in the market for more hair products!

Trinny London Lip2Cheek in Milly

Trinny London Lip2Cheek in Milly is a gorgeous hot pink. It’s pigmented but you can sheer it out too. I love it as a lip stain but it works as a blush too.

Narciso Rodriguez for her fleur musc

I’ve been a fan of the original Narciso Rodriguez perfume since 2006!  I still have about half my original bottle left, and I wore it so much that it’s one of the scents that I can immediately identify, even on someone else.  This scent was originally launched in April 2017 but it’s so popular that it’s still on counters.

Now, there’s a flanker: the Narciso Rodriguez for her fleur musc, and it’s definitely my new favourite perfume.  Like all good flankers, this one smells a lot like the original which is good, because if you’re buying the flanker, there’s a chance that you were already a fan of the original.

TextFleur Musc is definitely a touch more sweet, more feminine, more freshly floral.  The heart of the fragrance is still rose, and it’s surrounded by a bit of pink peppercorn, and a base of amber and patchouli. A feminine blend of rose and peony on top of the timeless Narciso clean musk, this is a classic and perfect for all occasions. Far from boring, this is like drinking water out of a cut crystal goblet. Ironically, the easy-to-wear musks are some of my most overlooked perfumes and ones I rarely reach for. Maybe I’ll change that this week.

Name your favourite musk, which one do I need to add to my collection?

Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Nerolia Vetiver

Text
Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Nerolia Vetiver. Green fig, white florals, on top of a fresh clean musk. Herbal and fresh. Easy and long-lasting, this is definitely the most tenacious fig perfume I’ve tried, but it’s not really fig dominant, I feel like the musk takes center stage with this one. Inoffensive but not boring.

Here’s my video review of it.  Enjoy and thanks for watching if you do!

Have you tried this perfume? Let me know your thoughts.
