Gloves In a Bottle Review
It’s the moisturizer everyone is talking about and the one that keeps disappearing off my desk because it’s THAT popular. The perfect moisturizer for people who don’t want something greasy and will just use a dab. Gloves in a Bottle is a formula that actually coats your hands so that moisture is trapped in, and so this is the best moisturizer for using after you’ve just washed your hands.
I like the new bottle design.

Empties: Vivier, Living Proof, Keri, Shiseido, Oribe, Ouai, Sugar, Nars
So many empties, many of them were trial-sized anyway, but some weren’t. So here are some reviews:
The Nars Creamy Concealer. I use the colour ginger and it’s a pretty good match. Good took me over a year to finish but I did love using it.
Fresh Beauty Sugar Lip Balm in Rose. These are pretty waxy and melty so I only like using them in the winter. In the summer they just fall apart.
Ouai Treatment Mask. So-so and I wouldn’t get a full-sized but I did enjoy the scent of this. Almost like a soft citrus.
Vivier Sheer SPF 30 sunscreen. It’s tinted and a bit obvious but it does settle and the colour isn’t so obvious after that. But… I’d prefer it if it was clear. @livingproofinc Perfect Spray. It was ok. Don’t need to rebuy.
Oribe Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil. Smells like neroli and I loved this! I would absolutely buy a nice big bottle of this.
Shiseido Softening toner. It was good. Great for all skin types, and I used it first thing in the morning.
Keri Barrier Renewal Complex. This was a thick rich cream, unfragranced and great for severely dry skin. I would get this again. It’s really moisturizing and uses a variety of ingredients to help your skin.
Aesop Sage and Cedar Scalp Treatment
I love using hair oils at this time of year. I actually have time to apply them, let them sit and do their work and then wash them out. I’m testing out this Aesop Sage and Cedar Scalp Treatment which is an oil that has actual essential oils in it. Cedar is shown to stimulate hair growth, and also is an anti-fungal treatment.I’m enjoying the lovely smells of this Aesop Sage and Cedar Scalp Treatment. It really smells like cedar thanks to the addition of cedar essential oil in an almond oil base. It’s a shame, that this is a pre-treatment and meant to be washed out after 15 minutes.
I’m checking out the Aesop Canada website, and it says that there are complimentary standard deliveries which seems very enticing.
Geoffrey Beene Grey Flannel EDT Review
A polarizing fragrance if there ever was one.
Some say it’s too 70’s and it reminds them of their grandfather or a “dad”. I get the station wagon with wooden panels, corduroy, and bell-bottoms but I don’t think any of those are bad things. There’s also a dampness that reminds me of home and makes this totally worth the $20 I spent on it.
Talika Lipocils Eyeliner and Mascara Review
Finally officially reviewing these two Talika products, both containing peptides to nourish your lashes so they grow.
I threw some major shade at the mascara in my stories a while ago because it’s so smudgy. It basically feels like a black lash cream rather than a mascara, that’s how bad this formula is.
The eyeliner is way better and it’s one I can use daily. It works well without primer but with primer it’s even better.

Empties: Cantu, Bliss, Naturally Serious, Sol de Janeiro, Elizabeth Arden, YSL, Blistex
Things I’ve finished and loved.
Cantu Beauty Skin Therapy lotion – omg I went back and forth about this one a lot. I didn’t like the smell, but then I liked it. It’s a sweet coconut candy. I didn’t like the texture and then I did. Honestly, this would be an amazing summer lotion because it’s light, sets quickly, and is not greasy at all. But it’s also not that moisturizing, so it’s not my favourite for the winter time.
Bliss Vitamin C. I loved this vitamin C. It was light and stable and I’ll always like a pump better than those little dropper bottles. ⠀
Naturally Serious Sleep Over Retin-Oil. Adored this oil, it was super gentle on my skin.
Sol de Janeiro Coco Cabana Cream. This is a mini. Smells tropical but I like the texture of the original Bum Bum Cream better.
Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Lip Balm. Thick and waxy, this lasted a long time.
YSL The Shock mascara. I bought this in a blue colour and it never smudged or flaked. This is an amazing formula.
Blistex lip balm. It is winter and I’ve been running out of every lip balm I have. This one has spf 25 and I liked that. I’ve gone through lots of tubes of this and it’s great.
Jo Malone Black Cedarwood and Juniper Cologne Review
I wear this when I’m craving warm skin and wet weather.
Jo Malone Black Cedarwood and Juniper has a wet warmth thanks to a heavy dose of cumin. It’s the same as Le Labo’s Rose31, and as I write this, I’m thinking I want to try those together.
This is a LE bottle of a scent that they then made permanent but then phased out. It was part of a group of scents created (2014) around the idea of rain, not petrichor exactly but rainy weather.
I love rainy weather, it actually puts me in a good mood.
