Who has been gate-keeping this perfume? Seriously, it is so good, and why have I not heard about it?I’ll be honest, sometimes I’m a perfume snob and have avoided the more recent launches from Sol de Janeiro.
A couple of years ago, I had sample sizes of the Bum Bum Cream and it just smelled too sweet and too strong. I’ve also had the misfortune of being in proximity of someone who wore 1 too many sprays of the body mist, and couldn’t wait to get away. I avoid that section of the Sephora because I think I’ve smelled it all at this point, and go straight to… I don’t know, whatever I’m running in there for.But this one: Rio Radiance.
This one is good, really good. I saw that it said tuberose and coconut on the bottle but I wasn’t convinced, so I sprayed it on paper, thinking that I’d hate it, but that paper stayed real close, that’s how good it smelled. I mean, creamy coconut and tuberose isn’t a new scent profile, I have a few of them in my collection: Datura Noir, Do Son, Tom Ford Soleil Blanc, Estee Lauder Sensuous Nude; but, this one is so much better. The coconut is amped up and a little sweeter, and that’s just enough to truly take this perfume into beach vacation territory.
People are saying that this is a dupe for Soleil Blanc, or they’re layering them together, but I say this is BETTER. Yes, it’s a body mist and longevity might be bad, but Soleil Blanc doesn’t last on me either, so in this case, at least you’re getting what you’re paying for, not overpaying for what you’re getting. Anyway, I can’t gate-keep and I hope you all go smell this and spray yourself with it the next time you’re at Sephora.
Imagine that you’re eating a coconut cake on a tropical island. Yum, you’re so fancy, but like all rich people you’re secretly cheap, and you know you can smell great without spending a lot. You’re saving your coin for the fancy resort.
