Moroccanoil, Amika, and Olaplex Reviews

Here’s some reviews of hair products that I’ve been trying out!  I have frizzy curly hair that needs a lot of moisture, but at the same time, I don’t like anything too heavy.  I’m trying to not heat style my hair as much – it’s been 3 months since my hair saw a flat-iron and that’s new record for me!  My hair stylist said my hair looked healthy so that was a bonus.

I also dipped into some products I’ve used before to see if I still liked them, and that’s what led me to using this Moroccanoil Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner.

Honestly, isn’t for me. Both are very creamy and moisturizing and because of how heavy they are, they feel kind of dated as formulas.  Now you can find hydrating formulas that are not so heavy.  ($28 each).

I’ve been using the Olaplex No. 6 Bond Smoother Styling Cream Leave-In conditioner has been my favourite new discovery. It really has the texture and finish of a leave-in, giving hair some slip and dry angling along the way. All with the technology of Olaplex. If you’ve used it then you know. I’m trying the Bonding Oil next. ⠀($38 at salons – I got mine from Jerome Salon in Calgary).

Amika is a newer brand that I’ve been getting into, and this Glass Action Universal Elixir is the first product that I’ve tried from them.  The Glass Action Elixir is a really concentrated hair serum. It was ok. There such a fine line between using too much, and just enough with this one but if you use the right amount it leaves hair shiny and smooth.  $37 on Amazon.
